The city stood in ruins

With its annihilated buildings and destroyed roads it resembled hell.

Not a single bird, not a single street dog, not a single soul could be seen.

Deep within a ramshackle wept a grieving woman, bodies of her children lying in her arms.

Why ohh why… what was their fault… why did you let them born in this hapless city of Gaza?
